REFRESHERS COURSE

Duration  – 2 Day 

Introduction to the course:

This course is aimed at existing HETAS dry installers, that need to re-qualify their competence to comply with the competent person scheme rules set by the Department of Communities and Local Government.

The course consists of 2 days training and assessment.

Entry requirements:

An existing HETAS dry installer, with proof of registration. (Business and installer number will be checked with HETAS at time of booking).

• Fuel types, Storage & Selection.
• Principles of Combustion,
• Causes of Incomplete Combustion & Carbon Monoxide Poisoning.
• Appliance types, Operating Principles & Selection.
• Legislation, Regulations & Industry guidance.
• Flue system & Ventilation requirements for solid fuel appliances.
• Dry solid fuel appliance; Sizing, Selection, Installation, Commissioning & Decommissioning.
• Dry solid fuel appliance service & maintenance.

Course  Assessment

Multiple choice and desk based activity question papers; open book examination 100% to pass. Two attempts must get 80% or more for second attempt. Practical assessment 100% to pass, two attempts must get 80% or more for second attempt.

What next:

Re-register with HETAS.
